Planned Activities for the 68th Independence Day Anniversary – Gh Edu Pro
As Ghana approaches its 68th Independence Day Anniversary, the National Celebrations Planning Committee (NCPC) has outlined a series of events to mark this significant milestone. The Presidency Communications, in an official release dated February 23, 2025, highlighted activities aimed at celebrating Ghana’s history, promoting national pride, and engaging the public, especially the youth.
The celebrations will commence with the commemoration of the 28th February Crossroad Shooting Incident on Friday, February 28, 2025. This event pays tribute to the brave ex-servicemen who lost their lives during the 1948 protests, a key moment in Ghana’s fight for independence.
Following this historic remembrance, several key activities will take place:
- Finals of the Nationwide School Quiz Competition on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
- Finals of the Nationwide Debate Competition on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
- President’s School Children Awards Programme on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
- Ceremonial Parade at the Forecourt of the Presidency on Thursday, March 6, 2025, marking the official Independence Day celebration.
These events are designed not only to celebrate the country’s independence but also to engage students and the wider public in national discourse and patriotic activities.
