Government and Teachers’ Union Begin Talks on Better Working Conditions – Gh Edu Pro
The government of Ghana has started discussions with the leadership of the Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU). These talks are focused on improving the conditions of service for members of the union.
The discussions began after both parties signed an agreement called the “rules of engagement.” This agreement sets the ground rules for how the negotiations will be conducted.

The government team for the talks is led by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) and includes officials from the Ghana Education Service (GES). On the other side, TEWU is being represented by its union executives.

The aim of these discussions is to ensure that TEWU members, who work hard to support education in Ghana, get fair treatment and better working conditions. Both parties are expected to work together to find solutions that benefit the union members and strengthen the education system.
