The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced a revised academic calendar for Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) for the 2024/2025 academic year. The new calendar supersedes the previous one issued on October 16, 2024. This update aims to keep students, parents, and school authorities well-informed and prepared for the academic activities ahead.

The transitional academic calendar is structured to accommodate students at different levels of SHS. Below is a summary of the important dates for each form:
Form 3 (Final Year Students)
- First Term: 3rd January to 16th April, 2025 (15 weeks)
- Break: 17th April to 29th April, 2025
- Second Term: 30th April to 19th September, 2025 (20 weeks)
- WASSCE Period: 4th August to 19th September, 2025
- End of Academic Year: 19th September, 2025

Form 2 Students
- First Term: 30th October to 5th December, 2024 (5 weeks)
- Break: 6th December, 2024 to 9th February, 2025
- Second Term: 10th February to 23rd May, 2025 (14 weeks)
- Break: 24th May to 27th July, 2025
- Third Term: 28th July to 17th October, 2025 (11 weeks)
- End of Academic Year: 17th October, 2025
Form 1 Students
- First Term: 30th October, 2024 to 7th February, 2025 (11-13 weeks)
- Break: 8th February to 25th May, 2025
- Second Term: 26th May to 25th July, 2025 (9 weeks)
- Break: 26th July to 30th August, 2025
- Third Term: 20th September to 17th October, 2025 (4 weeks)
- End of Academic Year: 17th October, 2025

Single Track Academic Calendar
The single track calendar follows a uniform structure across all forms:
Form 3, 2, and 1 Students
- First Term: 30th October, 2024 to 5th March, 2025 (18 weeks)
- Break: 6th March to 22nd April, 2025
- Second Term: 23rd April to 19th September, 2025 (21 weeks)
- WASSCE Period (Form 3 only): 4th August to 19th September, 2025
- End of Academic Year: 19th September, 2025
Important Notes
- There will be a Christmas break from 20th December, 2024 to 2nd January, 2025.
- The GES urges all heads of Senior High/Technical Schools to ensure compliance with the revised calendar.
