TTAG Votes in Favor of Full Allowances – Know What It Means for You
There is important information for teacher trainees across Ghana following discussions at the 29th General National Assembly of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG).
During the assembly, members carefully discussed issues surrounding trainee allowances. To ensure that the final decision reflected the views of trainees, a poll was conducted to choose the preferred mode of allowance payment. The options were full payment and half payment of allowances.
The results were as follows:
- Full payment of allowance: 94 votes
- Half payment of allowance: 62 votes
Based on the outcome, TTAG has resolved that full allowances should be paid to all teacher trainees. This decision was supported by the majority of participants.
However, it is important for trainees to clearly understand what full payment means. Under the full allowance system, teacher trainees will no longer be provided with feeding (food). Trainees will be expected to use their allowance to prepare or cater for their own food.
Trainees are therefore advised to plan and manage their allowances wisely to cover feeding and other personal needs.
More information will be shared as soon as further details are officially released.
