“Teacher and Nursing Trainees’ Allowances to Be Paid Monthly” – H.E. Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has brought exciting news to Nursing and Teacher Trainees in Ghana. Speaking during his Thank You Tour in the Northern Region, he assured trainees that their allowances will now be paid directly by the Controller and Accountant General.
During his speech he said “Nursing and Teacher Trainees’ allowances are to be paid directly by the Controller and Accountant General. This has been made a part of the compensations item in the budget. This will permanently eliminate the delay in trainees receiving their allowances”.

This means that students will no longer experience long delays in receiving their money. In the past, trainees often had to wait for months before their allowances were paid. With this new system, payments will be more regular and timely.
Mahama further explained that teacher and nursing trainees will receive their allowances at the same time as public sector workers. He stated: “This means that any time public sector workers receive their monthly salaries, teacher and nursing trainees will also receive their allowances.”
This is a great relief for many students, as it will help them plan their finances better and reduce financial stress while in school.
Although this announcement brings hope to many trainees, it is still unclear when the payments will actually begin. There has been no official date given for the start of this new system.
