TTAG Calls on Government to Release Trainee Allowances for First SemesterThe Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has asked the government to quickly release the allowances for teacher trainees for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year.

According to TTAG, “the delay in payment is affecting the lives of many trainees across the country.In their appeal”, TTAG said:

In their appeal, TTAG said:“While we commend the Government, TTAG appeals to the Government through the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) to expedite the release of the allowances for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year which is almost ended, as the timely and full payment of these allowances are essential for the sustainable support and development of Teacher Trainees in the Public Colleges of Education.”

This means that TTAG is happy with the efforts the government is making but wants them to speed up the payment of allowances.

“We remain hopeful that this supportive trend will continue, reinforcing a strong commitment to investing in the future leaders of our nation’s education system.”TTAG stated

Many trainees depend on these funds for food, transportation, and academic needs.TTAG also expressed hope that things will improve.

TTAG is asking the government to support teacher trainees by paying their allowances on time.

This will help them focus on their education and training to become the future leaders and teachers of Ghana.
