TTAG Addresses One Hot Meal Policy and Delayed Academic Results

The National Secretariat of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) extends warm greetings to all Teacher Trainees across the country.
The newly elected leaders of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) have begun working hard to address key issues facing teacher trainees in the country.
After their official inauguration, the new National Executive Officers (NEO) led by H.E. Divine Nanjia, the National President, met with officials of the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) on Monday, 23rd June 2025.
Two important matters were discussed: the one hot meal policy and the delay in academic results.
One Hot Meal Still a Concern
The feeding issue in the Colleges of Education remains a big worry for many students. TTAG said that teacher trainees are unhappy about the current one hot meal given to them daily.
During the meeting with PRINCOF, TTAG found out that the GH¢8.00 feeding grant is not enough to provide three meals a day. TTAG shared that:
“A proposal was made to offer one nutritionally sufficient hot meal daily.”
TTAG promised to continue working with PRINCOF and other stakeholders to find better ways to improve the feeding situation.
“We assure all trainees that we will engage other key stakeholders, including the local TTAG, to find lasting and improved solutions to this challenge.”
Delay in Academic Results from Affiliate Universities
Another big challenge that TTAG raised is the delay in the release of exam results and transcripts by affiliate universities. This problem is affecting students’ progress, including those preparing for licensure exams or waiting for their certificates.
To deal with this, TTAG, under Divine Nanjia’s leadership, set up a five-member committee to gather data on the problem. The committee will work with affiliate universities such as UDS, UG, UEW, and AAMUSTED.
TTAG also said:
“We are committed to following up until tangible change is achieved.”
In conclusion, the new TTAG leaders are working quickly to solve problems affecting teacher trainees. They have promised to speak up and take action so that every teacher trainee in Ghana can enjoy better learning conditions.
