“We are also preparing to roll out the Students Loan Plus initiative this year at the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year,” – Dr. Shiraz Saajida.
The Students Loan Plus is designed to solve some of the big problems students face when trying to get loans. It will make getting a loan simpler, give students more money, and ensure that the money arrives on time.
Dr. Shiraz also said the goal of this new plan is to break down the barriers that stop many students from continuing their education, especially those from poor homes.

This new loan initiative is part of the wider No Fees Stress policy, started by President John Dramani Mahama, which is helping students by removing the stress of paying huge school fees. The policy is especially helping first-year students and those from disadvantaged areas.
Dr. Shiraz promised that the SLTF would work hard, honestly, and in partnership with others to make sure this loan plan succeeds.
“We’re fully committed to making this work. We will continue to collaborate with all stakeholders to improve student support,” she added.
The announcement brings hope to many students who have struggled to pay fees or take care of themselves in school. With the Students Loan Plus, things are about to get better.
