One of the big questions on the minds of many Level 100 teacher trainees is:
“Will we also receive our allowance from January to June 2025?”
This concern started after the Finance Minister, during the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review, told Parliament that the government had paid all nursing and teacher trainee allowances. He explained that the payment covers all levels of trainees, which includes Level 100 students.
“I am pleased to inform this House that we have paid all nursing and teacher training allowances,” — Finance Minister, July 2025
From this statement, we can clearly say that Level 100 teacher trainees are part of this payment. The allowance in question is for the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic year which inlcudes two month of the second semester.
Yes, Level 100s Are Included
If you are a Level 100 student and you have registered for the teacher trainee allowance, then yes — you are expected to receive your share once the disbursement process starts.
The government has confirmed that it has released the money to the rightful authorities who are in charge of making the payments. This means that the money is now in the hands of institutions like the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), which is responsible for paying the allowance into the bank accounts of teacher trainees.

The No Fees Stress Policy and Allowance
Many Level 100 students were confused about whether they would get their allowance or not because of the new “No Fees Stress” policy. This policy was introduced by the government to make college life easier.
Because of this, some students thought that the allowance would be removed or reduced, especially for Level 100s. But during the launch of the No Fees Stress policy, the government made it very clear that students would still receive their teacher trainee allowance, despite the introduction of the “No Fees Stress” policy.

So here is the truth:
Even though the government is now covering your college fees directly, your allowance will still be paid to you.
Receiving help with fees does not cancel or replace your allowance. Both are separate benefits for teacher trainees.
All Level 100s Across All 47 Colleges Are Covered
The government says this payment covers all levels, so if you are a Level 100 trainee who registered for the allowance, you are part of it.
This includes students in all 47 public Colleges of Education in Ghana. As long as you are in your first year and you have submitted the necessary documents for the allowance, you should receive your payment.
So, to answer the big question clearly:
Yes, Level 100s will get their allowance.
Yes, it covers January to June 2025.

What’s Next?
Now that the government has released the funds, the next step is for the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) to begin the actual disbursement of the allowance. The payments are expected to start being released between Monday and Friday next week.
So we advise all teacher trainees to be patient, stay calm, and keep monitoring their bank accounts. If there are any issues or delays, you can always contact your bursar or the Student Loan office for help.
