National Service Secretariat Announces New Portal and Start Date for 2025/2026 Service Year
The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced important updates regarding the 2025/2026 service year, including the reopening of a new registration portal, key reforms, and the official start date for service.
New Digital Platform Introduced
Following a directive from the President, the NSA conducted a technical and forensic audit on the previous Central Service Management Platform. The audit revealed several issues, prompting the creation of a new, more secure and transparent system. This new platform is designed to enhance real-time verification, transparency, and data integrity.
Re-registration Required
All previous registrations done in June 2025 have been declared null and void. Prospective service personnel are therefore required to re-register on the new portal. Those who registered earlier will, however, receive a refund of their service fees.
Registration Dates
The new online registration opens on Wednesday, 8th October 2025, and closes on Wednesday, 15th October 2025.
All registrations must be done on the new official website: www.gnsa.gov.gh.
Start Date for Service
According to the NSA, the 2025/26 national service year officially begins on Monday, 3rd November 2025, with personnel expected to report to their stations by Saturday, 1st November 2025.
Ensuring Timely Payment and Reducing Fraud
The Authority has introduced new IT reforms and internal control systems in collaboration with the Controller and Accountant General’s Department. Regular efficiency checks will also be conducted to prevent payroll fraud and ensure timely payment of allowances.

New Opportunities for Service Personnel
The NSA has expanded service opportunities beyond traditional postings. The new initiatives include:
- Youth in Agriculture – Practical training and startup support in partnership with Agrimpact Limited.
- Community Improvement Programmes (CIP) – Focused on literacy, sanitation, public health, and voter education.
- Private Sector Partnerships – Creating job and career pathways with local and international companies.
- Skills Capacity Training – Building job-ready skills to improve employability after service.
