Freshers Report to Colleges of Education Today, 11th November — Check What to Bring Along

Today, Tuesday, 11th November 2025, marks the official reporting day for all freshers who have gained admission into the various Colleges of Education across Ghana for the 2025/2026 academic year.
This is a big day for many young people who have worked hard to earn a place in the colleges. It is the beginning of a new journey — a journey toward becoming professional teachers who will help shape the future of Ghana through education. For most freshers, this is not just a new chapter in their education, but also a new experience of living away from home, meeting new friends, and adjusting to college life.
As you report to your college today, it’s important to go along with all the necessary documents and items required for registration, verification, and accommodation. Without these documents, you may face challenges during the registration process, so it’s better to prepare everything before leaving home.

Below are the important particulars and documents every fresher must take along:
- Admission Letter – This is the official letter confirming that you have been offered admission into the college. It serves as proof that you are a legitimate student. You will need both printed and digital copies during registration.
- Ghana Card – Your national identification card will be needed for verification and official records. Make sure it is valid and in good condition.
- Active Health Insurance Card (NHIS) – Health is important. Having an active NHIS card will help you access healthcare services whenever you need medical attention on campus.
- School Fees Payment Slip – This document shows that you have paid your admission or school fees, whether in full or partially. Keep both the original and photocopy safe.
- Prospectus – The prospectus contains a list of items you will need for school, including uniforms, bedding, utensils, and other essentials for hostel life. It helps you prepare adequately before reporting.
- WASSCE Certificate or Result Slip – Bring both original and photocopies of your WASSCE certificate or result slip. It will be used to confirm your eligibility and admission details.

Freshers are strongly advised to report early to avoid long queues and delays in registration. Reporting early also gives you enough time to settle into your hostel, familiarize yourself with the environment, and prepare for orientation activities.
When you arrive on campus, you will be guided by college officials and student leaders, especially members of the Student Representative Council (SRC). They are there to help you with directions, accommodation, and any other information you may need.

Your first week at the college is usually filled with important activities such as orientation programmes, departmental registration, and meeting your tutors. During orientation, you will learn about the college’s rules, academic calendar, and student life. It is also a great opportunity to meet new friends and interact with senior students who can share useful advice on how to succeed in college.
As a fresher, remember that college life requires focus, respect, and discipline. You are now part of a professional training environment where your actions, attitude, and performance matter. Always be punctual to lectures, take your studies seriously, and obey the rules of the college. Education is the foundation for success, and the teaching profession demands commitment and integrity.
As you begin this wonderful journey, stay positive and open-minded. There may be challenges, but they are all part of your growth. Learn from every experience and make the most out of your time in the college. “The journey to greatness begins with a single step — take it with confidence and purpose.”
