Ghana Local Tertiary Scholarship Open for 2025/2026 Academic Year – Apply Now

Ghana Scholarship Secretariat has officially announced the opening of the local tertiary scholarship application for the 2025/2026 academic year. This is great news for students who have gained admission into any local tertiary institution and need financial assistance.

Application Period
The application portal will be open from Wednesday, 30th July 2025 to Friday, 15th August 2025. Interested students are advised to complete their application within this period.

Application Procedure

The application process is divided into three main phases:

Phase 1: Online Application

  • Visit www.apply.scholarships.gov.gh
  • Create an account and fill in your application details
  • Upload the necessary documents: academic transcripts, admission letter, and certificates

Phase 2: Aptitude Test

  • Take an online aptitude test on a scheduled date (within the application period)

Phase 3: Interview

  • If you pass the test, you will be invited to the nearest MMDA office for an interview

Requirements

To be eligible for the scholarship:

You must have gained admission into a local tertiary institution and be registered for the academic year
Provide an admission letter and academic transcript (especially continuing students)
Public university students must be in Level 200 or above
Private university students can apply from Level 100
You must be a Ghanaian citizen and resident in Ghan

Note

  • The scholarship application is free
  • No agent or third-party has been hired by the Secretariat
  • Report any suspicious activity, especially requests for payment, to WhatsApp line 0559285646 or the CID of the Ghana Police Service
