Ghana National Fire Service Warns the Public: “We Are Not Recruiting” but….

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has released a strong warning to everyone in Ghana.
A fake recruitment notice is spreading on social media, saying that GNFS is hiring new workers.
But GNFS says this is not true.In a press release dated May 23, 2025, GNFS said, “GNFS is not conducting any recruitment exercise at this time.”
They explained that many people have seen a message online saying they can apply for jobs with the Fire Service, but it is a scam.
The Head of Public Relations, Desmond Ackah, said in the statement, “Official recruitment will only be announced after government clearance and will be published in national newspapers, on our official website (www.gnfs.gov.gh), and social media handles (@gnfsofficial).”
This means that if GNFS wants to hire people, they will tell everyone through trusted sources, not random social media posts.
The Fire Service is asking the public not to believe any fake messages or pay money to anyone who claims they can help them get a job.
“The public is strongly advised to disregard these fraudulent notices, avoid paying any money or purchasing e-vouchers, and report such activities to the law enforcement agencies,” the statement said.
GNFS also asked Ghanaians to be careful and protect themselves. “The public is urged to remain vigilant and be aware that these fake announcements are the work of miscreants seeking to defraud unsuspecting individuals.”
