The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced a special arrangement to help prospective National Service Personnel (NSPs) who have biodata mismatches between their Ghana Card details and the records submitted by their tertiary institutions.
According to the NSA, a dedicated Special Registration Help Desk will be available at the NSA Headquarters from Wednesday, 19th August 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to assist affected personnel with correcting their records.
Why the NSA Is Providing the Service
The initiative is aimed at making sure that the personal information of National Service Personnel is correct and consistent across official records.
Officials from the National Identification Authority (NIA) and the Ghana Publishing Company will also be available to provide on-site support.
The NSA said the arrangement will make the correction process easier and reduce the need for affected personnel to visit different offices to resolve their problems.
What Causes Biodata Mismatches?
A biodata mismatch happens when the information submitted by a tertiary institution does not match the information on a person’s Ghana Card.
Some common causes include:
– Different spellings of names on the Ghana Card and school records.
– Names arranged in a different order.
– A name missing from either record.
– Wrong date of birth submitted by the institution.
– Wrong date of birth or other personal information on the Ghana Card.
– Changes made to Ghana Card information that have not been updated in school records.
– Typing, transcription or data-entry mistakes.
– Errors when student information is transferred to the NSA system.
– Use of maiden, married, shortened or alternative names on different records.
How to Correct Your Biodata
Prospective National Service Personnel whose details do not match are encouraged to visit the Special Registration Help Desk at the NSA Headquarters from 19th August 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
Affected personnel will be guided through the appropriate correction process.
If the problem is related to information on the Ghana Card, the person will be directed to the special desk of the National Identification Authority (NIA) to make the necessary correction.
Where a person’s name needs to be officially gazetted, the individual will be assisted by the Ghana Publishing Company special desk to complete the required gazetting process.
Important Advice to Prospective Service Personnel
The NSA is advising all affected personnel to check their biodata carefully and correct any mistakes as early as possible.
Your name, date of birth and other personal details on your Ghana Card should match the information submitted by your educational institution.
Failure to correct mismatched information could cause problems with:
– National Service registration
– Validation
– Deployment
– Payment of allowances
– Other National Service-related processes
The NSA is also urging tertiary institutions to carefully check students’ biodata before submitting their class lists to the Authority.
Prospective National Service Personnel with biodata mismatches should take advantage of this opportunity to correct their records. Resolving the issue early can help prevent unnecessary delays during the National Service registration and deployment process.
The NSA says the initiative forms part of its efforts to provide a smoother and more efficient National Service experience for all personnel.
