PRINCOF Releases Revised Academic Calendar for 2025/2026 Academic Year

The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has released a revised academic calendar for all public Colleges of Education in Ghana for the 2025/2026 academic year.

  • This new calendar provides clear dates for reporting to school, examinations, vacations, and reopening for all levels.

This update is very important for students, tutors, and parents. It helps everyone to prepare well and plan ahead for the academic year.

Level 400 Students to Report First

According to the calendar, Level 400 students will be the first group to report to campus.

  • 1st November 2025 – Level 400 students will report to campus for orientation towards Macro Teaching.
  • 8th November 2025 – Level 400 students will report to their stations to begin their Macro Teaching in schools.

Macro Teaching is an important part of their training. It allows final-year students to gain practical teaching experience in real classrooms before they complete school.

Levels 100, 200 and 300 Resume

Students in Levels 100, 200, and 300 will report later in November.

  • 11th November 2025 – Levels 100, 200, and 300 students will report to campus for the first session of the first semester. This session will last for six weeks.
  • 20th December 2025 – These students will go home for the Christmas break.

After the Christmas holidays:

  • 8th February 2026 – Levels 100, 200, and 300 students will return to campus to continue the second session of the first semester. This session will last for nine weeks.
  • 13th April to 24th April 2026 – End of first semester examinations for Levels 100, 200, and 300 students.
  • 25th April 2026 – Students will go home for vacation after their exams.

This arrangement gives students enough time to learn, revise, and prepare well for their examinations.

End of Macro Teaching for Level 400

For Level 400 students, Macro Teaching in schools will officially end on:

  • 14th March 2026

This means final-year students are expected to complete their teaching practice by this date.

All Levels Resume for Second Semester

All students, including Levels 100, 200, 300, and 400, will resume together for the second semester.

  • 18th May 2026 – All levels report to campus for the second semester. This semester will last for 14 weeks.

At the end of the semester:

  • 10th to 21st August 2026 – End of second semester examinations for all levels.
  • 22nd August 2026 – All students go home for vacation.
  • 12th October 2026 – All levels re-open for the next academic activities.

What Students Should Do

Students are advised to take note of all the dates and prepare accordingly. It is important to:

  • Pay fees on time.
  • Report to campus on the exact dates.
  • Prepare well for examinations.
  • Follow all academic guidelines from your college.

Level 400 students should especially prepare seriously for their Macro Teaching since it plays a key role in their final assessment.
