Refund of feeding grant to level 400 students for the 2nd semester of 2023/2024 academic year

The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education-Ghana (PRINCOF) has announced that Level 400 students in all public colleges of education will receive a refund of GH₵784 for feeding for the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year.
This refund follows an earlier one of GH₵870 for the first semester, which was communicated in a letter dated 27th September 2024. In the latest notice, dated 19th June 2025, PRINCOF stated:
“The total amount of feeding fees to be refunded to Level 400 students for the 2nd Semester of the 2023/2024 Academic Year is GH₵784.00.”
How the amount was calculated
- Number of weeks: 14 weeks
- Feeding grant per day: GH₵8.00
- Total refund: GH₵8.00 × 14 weeks × 7 days = GH₵784.00
Refund not in cash unless fees are cleared
Principals of all public colleges of education have been advised to credit the refund to each student’s account, not pay them in cash. This will only happen after all outstanding bills such as:
- Congregation fees
- Transcript fees
- Attestation charges
have been fully paid.
According to the General Secretary of PRINCOF, Dr. Samuel Addae-Boateng:
“Principals are advised to credit each qualified student’s account with the amount due them, but not refund in cash until all outstanding student bills… are fully paid.”
What students should do
Level 400 students are encouraged to:
- Visit their college’s accounts office
- Confirm their eligibility and any outstanding fees
- Ensure the amount is credited to their account
This refund is part of efforts by PRINCOF and other stakeholders to support teacher trainees in their final year.
