Haven’t Received Your Allowance Yet? Here’s What to Do!

If you are a teacher trainee and haven’t received your allowance yet, don’t panic much. There is still something you can do to fix the issue quickly.
what you need to do as soon as possible:
Visit Your School’s Accounts Office
The first and most important thing you should do is go to the accounts office in your college. This is the place that handles all financial matters, including allowances. Some trainees make the mistake of waiting too long or expecting the issue to solve itself. But remember, delay can affect how fast your issue is handled.

When you go to the accounts office, go during working hours and speak politely with the staff. Tell them clearly that you haven’t received your allowance and would like to check if your information is correct.
Take Your Details Along
Go with your important documents, especially those you used during your admission. These include your admission letter, Ezwich card, student ID or Ghana card, and any payment slips or forms related to the allowance.
Check Your Name and Other Information
Make sure your full name is written correctly—just like it appears on your admission letter. A small mistake in spelling can delay your payment.

Check the Order of Your Names
One common reason why payments delay is wrong name spelling or name mismatch. You must make sure that your name is written exactly the way it appears on your admission letter and other official documents.
For example, if your name on the admission letter is “Akosua Adwoa Mensah”, but your name in the allowance system is “Adwoa Akosua Mensah”, the system may not recognize you properly. That small mistake can delay your payment.
If you notice any mistakes, talk to the staff at the accounts office. They will guide you on how to correct them.
Many trainees have already received their allowance, so don’t wait. The earlier you check and correct any issues, the faster your payment will come.
After checking and correcting your details, give it a few days for the changes to reflect. Sometimes, even after correction, it can take a little while for the allowance to be processed. But now that your records are correct, the money should come.
If you still haven’t received the allowance after some time, go back to the accounts office and follow up. Ask for updates politely.
