WAEC Reveals 2025 WASSCE Result-Release Date — 34,563 Candidates Under Investigation

According to a report by JoyNews, WAEC said it is putting final touches to the marking and processing of the results to ensure accuracy and fairness. The Council explained that before the official release, all scripts are thoroughly checked to detect any irregularities or errors that might affect candidates’ performance.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the 2025 WASSCE results will be released by November 15, 2025. This update brings hope and excitement to thousands of students across the country who have been waiting eagerly for their results since completing the exams earlier this year.

However, the Council also revealed a worrying issue. Over 34,563 candidates have been placed under investigation for suspected cases of mass cheating during the 2025 WASSCE. WAEC noted that these candidates are being probed for various forms of malpractice that were detected during and after the examination period. These include the sharing of answers on social media platforms, the use of unauthorized materials, and collusion among candidates during the exams.

WAEC has assured the public that all such cases will be handled carefully. The affected candidates’ results will be withheld until the investigations are completed. If found guilty, their results could be cancelled, as the Council maintains a zero-tolerance policy on examination malpractice.

A statement from the Council emphasized that, “WAEC is committed to upholding the credibility of the examination process. We urge candidates, parents, and the general public to remain patient as we complete our investigations and finalize the release of results.”

In previous years, the issue of examination malpractice has been a major concern for WAEC and the education sector as a whole. Despite measures such as stricter invigilation and the introduction of new security features, some candidates still attempt to cheat. The Council has therefore been working closely with the Ghana Education Service (GES) and security agencies to curb such practices and promote honesty in examinations.

Education experts have also advised students to focus on hard work and discipline rather than seeking shortcuts to success. They believe that if all stakeholders—teachers, parents, and students—play their part, the problem of mass cheating can be greatly reduced.

Many students are now anxious but hopeful. For some, the release of the results will determine their next steps in education, including admission into universities, nursing training colleges, and other tertiary institutions. Parents and guardians are also eagerly waiting, praying for good outcomes for their wards.

As November 15 draws near, all eyes are on WAEC to deliver on its promise. The Council has assured the public that the results will be released on time, and that every effort is being made to ensure transparency, fairness, and accuracy in the process.

This year’s WASSCE results are expected to reflect the hard work of students across the country, despite the challenges faced during their studies.
