The GES directed all Regional Directors of Education to pass the message to the heads of Presbyterian Church schools in their areas. The statement added that “Regional Managers of Presbyterian church schools are to ensure that the day is observed in all schools and educational unit offices.”

According to the letter, “Approval has been granted Presbyterian Church Schools (Basic and Second Cycle Institutions) to observe Thursday, 29th May, 2025 as a holiday in recognition of the church’s 2025 Ascension Day.”

This means that on Thursday, May 29, 2025, students and teachers in Presbyterian basic and senior high schools will not go to school to mark this important Christian event.
