MTN MoMo to Bank Transfers to Attract New Charges from June 1, 2026
Users of MTN Ghana Mobile Money services will begin paying a new fee when transferring money from their MoMo wallets to bank accounts starting June 1, 2026.
According to the new update, all transfers from MTN MoMo wallets to bank accounts will attract a 0.75% charge per transaction. However, the fee has been capped at GH¢5, meaning no customer will pay more than GH¢5 on a single transfer.
The new charge applies only to transfers from MoMo wallets directly into bank accounts. Other Mobile Money transactions are not affected by this adjustment.
For example:
- If a customer transfers GH¢100 from MoMo to a bank account, the charge will be 75 pesewas.
- A transfer of GH¢500 will attract a fee of GH¢3.75.
- Any transfer amount that exceeds the cap will still attract a maximum charge of GH¢5.
MTN Ghana says the adjustment is part of changes to its Mobile Money services. Customers are advised to take note of the new charges before making transfers from their MoMo wallets to banks.
Mobile Money remains one of the most widely used payment methods in Ghana, helping millions of people send and receive money, pay bills, and perform banking transactions easily.
Customers are encouraged to check transaction details carefully before confirming transfers to avoid unexpected charges.
