The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has announced an extension of its undergraduate application deadline for applicants who were waiting for their 2026 WASSCE results.
According to a notice from the Directorate of Academic Affairs, the UCC application portal will remain open until Friday, September 11, 2026, for applicants who are awaiting their 2026 WASSCE results.
The announcement follows the release of the 2026 WASSCE results by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Applicants asked to check their details
UCC has advised applicants to log into the application portal using their e-voucher Serial Number and PIN to check and confirm the accuracy of their:
- Full names
- WASSCE index number(s)
- Choice of programmes
Applicants are encouraged to carefully check these details to avoid problems during the admission process.
Applicants with previous WASSCE results
The university has also advised applicants who already have November/December (Nov/Dec) WASSCE results but did not use them when applying to add them as a second sitting WAEC result.
New applicants must select the correct application type
UCC has explained that new applicants should select the appropriate application type.
2026 WASSCE candidates awaiting results:
These applicants do not need to verify their results. UCC will verify their results directly with WAEC.
Applicants with 2025 or older WASSCE results:
These applicants must verify their results during the application process before submitting their applications.
Deadline for selected health-related programmes
The university has also announced that applications for the following programmes will close on Friday, September 11, 2026:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
- Doctor of Optometry
- Doctor of Pharmacy
- Bachelor of Science (Medical Laboratory Science)
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing)
- Bachelor of Science (Midwifery)
- Bachelor of Science (Dietetics)
- Bachelor of Science (Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
- Bachelor of Science (Diagnostics Imaging Technology)
Deadline for other programmes
For all other programmes, the application deadline is Friday, September 25, 2026.
Applicants are therefore encouraged to complete their applications before the relevant deadline to avoid missing the opportunity.

Applicants who applied earlier
UCC has further advised people who applied earlier using their existing WASSCE results to check their admission status through the university’s admission portal and print their admission letters if they have been admitted.
Important: Applicants who are yet to complete their UCC applications should take note of the different deadlines, especially those applying for the listed health-related programmes.
