8,000 Newly Recruited Health Workers Expected to Start Work in July
The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has announced that the 8,000 newly recruited health workers are expected to commence work by July as the recruitment and placement process approaches completion.
Speaking on the progress of the exercise, the Minister indicated that efforts are underway to finalize all outstanding administrative procedures to ensure a smooth transition of the recruits into the health sector.
According to him, while he could not provide an exact date, the Ministry anticipates completing the process by July, allowing the newly recruited personnel to begin their duties.
Akandoh also disclosed that the Ministry of Health will soon release the names of all successful applicants along with information on the locations where they are required to attend interviews. He explained that the publication is intended to provide clarity for applicants and address concerns related to postings and interview arrangements.
He noted that candidates who successfully complete the required procedures will subsequently be integrated into the healthcare system.
The Minister further revealed that the deployment strategy will prioritize rural and underserved communities. He stated that attention will be given to areas experiencing shortages of health professionals in order to improve healthcare service delivery.
The planned deployment forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare services across the country.
