The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has announced that all applications for the 2025/2026 academic year must be completed and submitted by Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
The announcement, released on July 6, 2026, applies to both the Regular Students Loan and the Students Loan Plus schemes. According to the SLTF, the application portal will close after the deadline, and no new applications will be accepted.
Students who have already started their applications are encouraged to complete and submit them as soon as possible. Applying early will help avoid delays and reduce the risk of heavy traffic on the system during the final days.
The SLTF said the deadline is necessary to ensure that loan payments are processed on time for the 2025/2026 academic year. It will also help the Fund prepare for the next academic year.
So far, the Fund has paid GHS 170,493,187.50 to 47,988 students under the Regular Students Loan scheme. It has also disbursed GHS 17,205,184.13 to 1,426 students, including 610 law students, through the Students Loan Plus initiative. These payments were made directly to the students’ tertiary institutions.
The SLTF says it remains committed to helping Ghanaian students gain access to higher education by providing financial support. Students who need assistance with their applications can visit the nearest SLTF Zonal Office or contact the Fund through its official support channels.
