The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the start of the 2026 Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District re-posting exercise for its staff across the country.
According to a circular issued by the Human Resource Management and Development Division (HRMD), all Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education have been informed that the re-posting process has commenced. Management indicated that the procedures and requirements for obtaining assurance remain unchanged.
Schedule for the 2026 Re-Posting Exercise
Issuance of Assurances
- The issuance of assurances to eligible applicants begins on Wednesday, 3rd June, 2026.
- The issuance period ends on Wednesday, 17th June, 2026.
Processing of Inter-Regional Applications
– Regions will begin processing Inter-Regional re-posting applications from Wednesday, 17th June, 2026 to Tuesday, 30th June, 2026.
Deadline for Re-Posting Processing
– The processing of all Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District re-postings for 2026 will conclude on Monday, 31st August, 2026.
Effective Date of Approval
- Approved applications will take effect at the beginning of the next academic year in September 2026.
GES Management has requested that processed Inter-Regional documents be forwarded to the headquarters immediately upon receipt at the regional level to facilitate timely processing.
Regional offices have also been directed to compile and submit a list of all staff who have been granted assurance in their respective regions to the HRMD Secretariat at the GES Headquarters in Accra.
Management further emphasized that staff members seeking re-posting can only be released after the Director-General has approved the application and an official re-posting letter has been issued.
The circular was signed by Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah (Ms.), Director of HRMD, on behalf of the Director-General.
