The government has changed how it will give back money to first-year university students who already paid their fees. Earlier, during the 2024 election campaign, former President and NDC flag bearer, John Mahama, promised to pay the school fees of all Level 100 students in his first 120 days if he won the election. The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced that Personal Identification Numbers (PINs) have been released for 18,011 trained nurses and midwives. This announcement was made on April 17, 2025, to help eligible individuals prepare for their national service in the 2025/2026 service year. According to the NSA, all eligible nurses and midwives should visit the Authority’s website at www.nss.gov.gh to check their PIN codes. Hundreds of newly posted teachers who completed Colleges of Education and were assigned to schools in the Ashanti Region in July 2024 are protesting at the Ghana Education Service (GES) headquarters. These teachers say they have not been paid for the past seven months. The protest, is to demand their salaries.
