GES Warns Against Unauthorized Payments in Recruitment Exercise
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a strong warning to the public, especially applicants, about fraudulent activities surrounding its ongoing recruitment process.
In a recent notice, GES revealed that some dishonest individuals are using the name of the Service to collect money from unsuspecting applicants. These people falsely promise to help applicants secure employment, which is completely untrue.
No Payment Required for GES Recruitment
GES has made it clear that recruitment into the Service is completely free. According to management:
“The Service does not charge any fees, in any form, as assurance for recruitment into the Service.”
This means that no applicant should pay money to anyone in order to gain employment with GES.
Beware of Fraudsters
Applicants are strongly advised to stay alert and avoid falling victim to scammers. GES emphasized:
“All prospective applicants are strongly advised not to pay money or offer any form of inducement to any individual or group claiming to be officers of the Service or to have connections within GES.”
Fraudsters often pretend to be officials or claim they have “connections” within the system. These claims are false and should not be trusted.
Report Any Suspicious Activity
GES is urging the public to take action against such illegal activities. If anyone demands money in relation to recruitment, it should be reported immediately. As stated:
“Applicants and the general public are urged to report any individual or group demanding or collecting money in connection with GES recruitment to the nearest police station.”
Reporting such cases will help protect others and bring offenders to justice.
Security Agencies Involved
GES is not taking this issue lightly. The Service is working closely with security agencies to deal with the situation:
“Management is also collaborating with the security agencies to trace and clamp down on persons involved in such criminal activities.”
This step is aimed at ensuring that all fraudulent individuals are identified and punished.
Final Advice
If you are applying for GES recruitment, remember:
- Do not pay any money
- Follow only official procedures
- Report any suspicious person immediately
Staying informed and cautious will help you avoid scams and protect your future.
