CETAG and CENTSAG to Meet NLC Over Industrial Action on January 15, 2025

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) and the Colleges of Education Non-Teaching Staff Association of Ghana (CENTSAG) have scheduled a meeting with the National Labour Commission (NLC) on January 15, 2025. This meeting is to discuss their ongoing strike and find a solution to the issues raised.

CETAG and CENTSAG have been on strike since early January, calling for better working conditions and payment of outstanding allowances. Their industrial action has disrupted teaching and administrative activities in colleges of education across the country.

The leadership of the two unions has expressed hope that the meeting with the NLC will lead to a positive outcome. They have also urged the government to take their concerns seriously and address them promptly.

The strike has affected not only the staff but also students in the colleges. Many students fear the strike might delay the academic calendar and affect their studies.

The upcoming meeting is crucial, as it will determine whether the strike continues or if the unions will call it off. Stakeholders are calling for peaceful negotiations to resolve the matter and restore normal activities in the colleges.

CETAG and CENTSAG remain firm in their demands, stating that they deserve better conditions to ensure quality education and effective management of colleges.

As January 15 approaches, all eyes are on the NLC, CETAG, and CENTSAG to see if this meeting will bring an end to the industrial action.
