The Ghana Education Service (GES), Islamic Education Unit in the Central Region, has sent a message to all teachers to clear up confusion about a possible holiday on Monday, June 9, 2025.
In a letter signed by Mohammed Kabiru Yahaya, the Acting Regional Manager of the Islamic Education Unit, he said, “there has been no official communication from the General Manager declaring Monday as a holiday for Islamic Schools.”
This means that Monday is a regular school day, and all teachers are expected to report to school as usual.
The letter also said, “I sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused by any prior unofficial information, and we regret any disruption this may have caused to your plans.”
The Islamic Education Unit promised that if there is any update or change from the General Manager’s office, they will let everyone know immediately.
To end the message, Mr. Yahaya thanked the teachers, saying:
“Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your dedication and patience.”
Let’s all take note and prepare for a normal school day on Monday.
