Who Is the Scholarship For?

The GETFund Undergraduate Local Scholarship is available to students studying Diploma, HND, and Degree programmes in recognized public tertiary institutions in Ghana.

The scholarship is meant to help students who are academically good but face financial challenges. It covers part of the cost of education and helps reduce the burden on students and their families.

Students who are interested in applying should take note of the following dates:

  • Application Opens: Tuesday, 20th January 2026
  • Application Closes: Friday, 20th February 2026

All applications must be completed within this period. Late applications will not be accepted.

  • Applications will be received only through the official scholarship portal.
  • GETFund has not appointed any agent or individual to assist with applications.
  • Anyone claiming to be an intermediary should be reported to the nearest police station.

Students are strongly advised not to pay money to anyone promising to help secure the scholarship.

Who Is NOT Eligible to Apply?

According to GETFund, the following categories of students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship:

  • All first-year regular undergraduate students in public tertiary institutions.
  • All Diploma students in Colleges of Education.
  • All Diploma students in Nursing Training Colleges.
  • All Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in public tertiary institutions, from undergraduate to postgraduate level.

However, GETFund has clarified that these groups can still benefit from other government support programmes such as the Students Loan Trust Fund, the “No Fees Stress” initiative, and other PWD support schemes.

Why Students Should Apply

Education is expensive, and many students struggle to pay fees, buy books, and meet other academic needs. The GETFund scholarship provides relief and helps students focus more on their studies instead of worrying about money.

Applying for this scholarship is also an opportunity for hardworking students to be recognized and supported by the government.

Final Advice to Applicants

Students who qualify are encouraged to apply early and ensure that all information provided is correct. Make sure your documents are clear and properly uploaded to avoid disqualification.

Always use the official GETFund website and avoid any form of fraud.
