Education Minister Meets Key Stakeholders Over No-Fees-Stress Initiative for 2026/27 Academic Year
The Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has held a meeting with key stakeholders to discuss important issues concerning the implementation of the No-Fees-Stress Initiative for the 2026/27 academic year.
The meeting brought together representatives from the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), Vice-Chancellors Ghana (VCG), and the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF).
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss how the No-Fees-Stress Initiative can be effectively implemented to support Ghanaian students entering tertiary institutions.
The initiative is aimed at helping qualified Ghanaian students gain access to tertiary education without being denied admission because of financial difficulties.
During the meeting, the stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to working together to ensure that students who qualify for tertiary education receive the necessary support.
The discussion is also important as many students and parents are preparing for the 2026/27 academic year. Financial challenges remain a major concern for some families, especially when it comes to paying academic-related fees.
The Students Loan Trust Fund has assured students, parents, and guardians that it will continue to work closely with tertiary institutions and other stakeholders to support the implementation of the initiative.
