TTAG Updates Teacher Trainees on Delayed Allowances; Al-Faruq Trainees to Receive Payment Before October Ends
The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has released an update on the payment of teacher trainee allowances in the 49 public Colleges of Education across the country.
In a statement issued on October 26, 2026, the National Secretariat of TTAG addressed concerns about delayed allowances and provided information on trainees who are yet to receive their payments.
The statement also urged all teacher trainees to check their registration details and Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) account status to help prevent further delays.
TTAG Addresses Delayed Teacher Trainee Allowances
According to TTAG, its leadership has engaged the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) over concerns raised by teacher trainees who did not receive their allowances following the recent disbursement.
The engagement was aimed at finding out why some trainees had not received their funds and helping to ensure that affected students receive their payments as soon as possible.
TTAG explained that clearance had not been granted for trainees at the following Colleges of Education:
1. Savannah College of Education
2. Christ the Teacher College of Education
3. Ghana Muslim Mission College of Education
The association identified the lack of clearance as the reason for the delay affecting trainees at these institutions.
However, the statement did not provide a specific payment date for trainees at the three colleges.
Al-Faruq College Trainees to Receive Allowances Before October Ends
TTAG has also provided an update for trainees of Al-Faruq College of Education who did not receive their allowances during the recent disbursement.
According to the association, the affected trainees are expected to receive their payments before the end of October 2026.
This means that the affected trainees may receive their allowances before the month ends, provided the payment process goes as expected.
Trainees are therefore encouraged to monitor their bank accounts and ensure that their registration details are correct.
What Teacher Trainees Must Do to Avoid Payment Delay
In the statement, TTAG urged all teacher trainees to verify their registration information and check the status of their Ghana Commercial Bank accounts.
Trainees should make sure that their personal details are correct and that they have completed all the necessary requirements for payment.
Any errors or outstanding requirements should be corrected as soon as possible to help facilitate the payment process.
The association explained that checking these details is important because payment may be delayed when there are problems with registration information or bank account details.
Therefore, trainees who have not received their allowances should not ignore any errors or issues relating to their accounts.
TTAG Promises to Continue Engaging Stakeholders
TTAG has assured teacher trainees that it will continue engaging relevant stakeholders in teacher education to address their concerns.
The association said it remains committed to ensuring that all affected trainees receive their allowances as soon as possible.
The delayed payments have been a concern for some trainees who depend on the allowances to support their daily expenses while studying in their respective Colleges of Education.
TTAG’s latest statement provides an update on the situation, although trainees at Savannah College of Education, Christ the Teacher College of Education and Ghana Muslim Mission College of Education are still awaiting further information on their payments.
The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana has called on all trainees to check their registration details and Ghana Commercial Bank account status to avoid problems with allowance payments.
While affected trainees of Al-Faruq College of Education are expected to receive their allowances before the end of October 2026, trainees at Savannah College of Education, Christ the Teacher College of Education and Ghana Muslim Mission College of Education are affected by outstanding clearance.
TTAG has promised to continue engaging the relevant stakeholders to help resolve the concerns and ensure that all affected trainees receive their allowances.
Teacher trainees are encouraged to follow official TTAG updates for further information about the payment of their allowances.
