TTAG Announces Commencement of Teacher Trainees’ Allowance Disbursement
Teacher trainees across Ghana have received encouraging news as the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has officially announced the commencement of the disbursement of teacher trainees’ allowances.
In a press release dated July 18, 2026, TTAG confirmed that eligible beneficiaries have started receiving their allowances. The association described the development as an important step toward supporting teacher trainees financially.
According to the statement, TTAG expressed appreciation to the Government of Ghana for fulfilling its commitment to the welfare of teacher trainees. The association also thanked the Ministry of Education, Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF), and other stakeholders for their collaboration in making the payment possible.
TTAG stated: “The National Secretariat of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) is pleased to announce the commencement of the disbursement of trainee allowances to eligible beneficiaries.”
The association explained that the payment of trainee allowances is a major intervention that helps reduce the financial burden on students in Colleges of Education. The allowance supports trainees in meeting essential educational and living expenses while they pursue their studies.
TTAG also clarified that the payments are being made in batches. According to the statement, colleges whose trainee data have been fully validated are the first to receive the payments. Colleges that have not yet received the allowance will be paid after their validation process has been completed.
The statement noted:
“We are reliably informed that the disbursement is being carried out in batches. Accordingly, payments have commenced for Colleges whose trainee data have been fully validated.”
For trainees who have not yet received their allowance, TTAG has appealed for patience, assuring them that the payment process is still ongoing.
The association said:
“The National Secretariat therefore appeals to all Teacher Trainees who are yet to receive their allowances to remain calm and patient as the process continues.”
This announcement will bring relief to thousands of teacher trainees across the country who have been waiting for the payment. As the validation exercise continues, more colleges are expected to receive their allowances in the coming days.
Teacher trainees are encouraged to regularly check their accounts and remain updated through official communication from TTAG and their respective Colleges of Education.
