The Ministry of Education (MoE) has warned students, parents and guardians against fake and manipulated 2026 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) placement results being shared on social media.
The warning was contained in a statement issued by the Ministry on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
Fake CSSPS Placement Slips Circulating
According to the Ministry, some individuals are digitally changing CSSPS placement slips and sharing them on social media.
The individuals are allegedly creating the impression that the Ministry has changed students’ original school placements.
The Ministry has stated clearly that these claims are false and misleading.
QR Codes and Barcodes Do Not Match
The Ministry said it conducted preliminary internal checks on some of the placement slips being circulated.
The checks showed that some of the documents do not match the records generated from the official CSSPS platform.
In particular, the QR codes and barcodes on some of the circulated placement slips do not match the placement information shown on the documents.
The Ministry also said its system and audit logs do not support the claims that students’ placements have been changed.
Matter Referred for Investigation
The Ministry of Education considers the circulation of the fake documents a serious issue because it can create confusion and anxiety among students, parents and guardians.
The matter has therefore been referred to the Cyber Security Authority and other relevant security agencies for further investigation and appropriate action.
Public Advised Not to Share Unverified Results
The Ministry is asking the public to be careful when seeing CSSPS placement information on social media.
Students, parents and guardians are advised to:
- Avoid sharing unverified placement slips.
- Do not believe claims about placement changes without confirmation.
- Rely only on information from official CSSPS channels.
- Report any genuine concerns through the appropriate channels.
Ministry Assures Public of Fair Placement Process
The Ministry has assured the public that it remains committed to ensuring that the 2026 CSSPS placement exercise is carried out with transparency, fairness, integrity and accountability.
It also said that any legitimate concerns about school placement will be properly investigated through the appropriate channels.
Students and parents are therefore encouraged to remain calm and avoid relying on placement information circulating on social media unless it has been confirmed through official CSSPS channels.
