The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has announced important information for all eligible Level 400 teacher trainees and resit candidates preparing to write the 2026 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE 2).
According to a notice released by TTAG on July 24, 2026, the National Teaching Council (NTC) has officially released the indexing and registration modalities for the 2026 GTLE 2.
The announcement is for all eligible Level 400 students in the 49 public Colleges of Education across Ghana, as well as candidates who will be rewriting one or more papers.
Candidates are expected to complete their registration within the following period:
Registration Opens: August 1, 2026
Registration Closes: August 21, 2026
TTAG has advised all candidates to register early because no extension will be given after the deadline.
The 2026 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE 2) will take place from:
September 14 to September 16, 2026
Candidates are encouraged to prepare adequately for the examination.
Approved Registration Fees
The National Teaching Council has approved the following fees:
Fresh Candidates
Registration Fee (3 Papers): GH¢450.00
Indexing Fee: GH¢50.00
Resit Candidates
One Paper: GH¢150.00
Two Papers: GH¢210.00
Three Papers: GH¢385.00
TTAG also reminded candidates to follow these important registration guidelines:
Fresh candidates must first confirm their personal details on the NTC Indexing Portal before making payment.
Registration must be completed within the official registration period.
Every candidate must upload a passport-sized photograph during registration. The photograph cannot be changed after submission.
Candidates should keep their PIN and Serial Number safe because they will be needed to access examination
To support candidates, TTAG announced that it will organize Zoom orientation sessions in collaboration with the National Teaching Council (NTC).
The online sessions will explain the registration process, examination procedures, and answer questions from candidates.
TTAG has encouraged all eligible candidates to complete their registration as early as possible and strictly follow all NTC guidelines to avoid any last-minute challenges.
Candidates are also advised to begin their preparations early to improve their chances of passing the examination.
