“We’re Fixing the Errors” — SLTF Assures 4,981 Unpaid Teacher Trainees
The Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) has made significant progress in addressing teacher trainee allowances for the 2024/2025 academic year. According to Saajida Shiraz, the SLTF has “received the data of 61,486 students to process for the payment of teacher trainee allowances for the 2024/25 academic year.”
In a recent update, the Trust Fund confirmed that it has successfully disbursed five months’ outstanding allowances to 56,505 students across all 47 public Colleges of Education in Ghana. This payment brings relief to many teacher trainees who have been awaiting their stipends to support their academic journey.

However, not all students have received their allowances yet. The SLTF explained that there are still 4,981 students whose data need rectification. The statement reads:
“We are working with the institutions to rectify errors with the data of the 4,981 remaining students, and will pay as soon as we reach a resolution.”
The Fund further assured all teacher trainees that it is committed to fairness and accountability, emphasizing that “we remain committed to the transparent provision of financial support to students.”
This development comes as a major boost for teacher trainees who rely on the allowance for sustenance and academic expenses. With the majority already paid, attention now turns to the resolution of the outstanding cases, as the SLTF collaborates with the various Colleges of Education to ensure no student is left out.
