National Service Allowance Set to Be Increased Soon – Ruth Dela Seddoh, Acting Director-General

The National Service Authority (NSA) has revealed plans to increase the monthly allowance for all National Service personnel in Ghana. At the moment, service personnel receive about GH¢715 every month.

According to the Acting Director-General of the Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh, discussions about the new rate are almost complete. She explained that the new amount will be a meaningful increase, even though the final figure has not yet been announced.

Speaking to journalists in Accra, Ms. Seddoh said, “It is something that the President has expressed his interest in. But we all know the situation we find ourselves in, and so we don’t want to press him too hard. Let’s be hopeful.”

She added, “I don’t want to go ahead of the Minister, but I can assure you that we have had very good talks and we are hopeful that there will be some increment.”

Meanwhile, the NSA has also announced that online registration for the 2025/2026 service year will open on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and close on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

This follows a directive from President John Dramani Mahama after a Technical and Forensic Audit of the previous Central Service Management Platform (CSMP) found that the system did not meet the required standards.

Because of this, the Authority has been tasked to design and launch a new and stronger digital platform that will promote transparency, improve security, and allow real-time verification of service data.

In a new statement, the NSA also mentioned that all registrations done in June 2025 are now invalid. It advised all prospective service personnel to re-register. The Authority explained that this decision was made due to data integrity issues, such as age differences and errors found in earlier submissions.
