SLTF Meets PRINCOF to Discuss No-Fees-Stress Initiative for 2025/2026
The Chief Executive Officer of the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), Saajida Shiraz, has announced key updates on the implementation of the No-Fees-Stress Initiative for the 2025/2026 academic year.
According to her, earlier today, the SLTF management was happy to welcome the leadership of the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) to the SLTF Head Office. The meeting focused on how the No-Fees-Stress Initiative will be implemented smoothly for the upcoming academic year.
Speaking on the meeting, Saajida Shiraz explained that the SLTF will introduce a new payment system this year. She said the Fund will pilot a “direct-to-institutions” payment model. Under this system, academic fees for students enrolled in Colleges of Education, Health Training Institutions, and Colleges of Agriculture will be paid directly to their schools.
However, she noted that students admitted to Public Universities and Public Technical Universities will receive their academic fees through timely reimbursement instead of direct payments to the institutions.
“We used the opportunity to take PRINCOF through the No-Fees-Stress Portal and reminded them of the 31st January deadline for institutions to upload admission data,” she stated.

The SLTF CEO also revealed that lessons learned from the earlier implementation of the initiative have helped improve the process. To reduce errors and misinformation, newly admitted students will not be required to enter all their details from scratch.
“New students will only need to validate the information already preloaded on the portal, which will make the process faster and easier,” Saajida Shiraz added.
She expressed appreciation to PRINCOF and other stakeholders for their support. She also thanked Vice Chancellors Ghana, Vice Chancellors of Technical Universities Ghana, and all tertiary institutions for their strong collaboration.
“We are grateful for the cooperation we continue to receive, and we look forward to a smooth and successful implementation of the No-Fees-Stress Initiative for this academic year,” she concluded.
The No-Fees-Stress Initiative remains a key government policy aimed at reducing the financial burden on students and ensuring access to tertiary education across Ghana.
