PRINCOF Releases 2025/2026 Academic Calendar for Public Colleges of Education

 

The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has released the academic calendar for all public Colleges of Education in Ghana for the 2025/2026 academic year.

This calendar is very important because it gives students, tutors, and parents a clear guide on how the academic year will run. It also helps teacher trainees to prepare well for their studies, teaching practice, examinations, and vacations.

According to PRINCOF, the new academic year will begin on 1st November 2025 and end on 25th July 2026. The schedule has been divided into sessions, breaks, exams, and vacations for all levels – 100, 200, 300, and 400.

Below is a summary of the key dates:

What Students Should Note

  • Level 400 students will begin their Macro Teaching in November 2025 and finish in March 2026.

  • Levels 100, 200, and 300 students will have two sessions in the first semester (before and after Christmas), followed by exams and vacation.

  • The second semester begins in April 2026 and will last for 14 weeks before ending with examinations in July.

  • The academic year officially closes on 25th July 2026 when all students go home for vacation.
