TTAG Clarifies National Service Date for Teacher Trainees
The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has released an important statement to clear up confusion about when teacher trainees will begin their National Service.
According to the statement signed by TTAG President Nanija Divine and General Secretary Victor Atsu Anyidoho, teacher trainees will not start their National Service in the same year they complete college. The National Service Authority (NSA) has its own academic calendar, which separates the service schedules for Colleges of Education and Nursing from those of universities and other tertiary institutions.
TTAG explained that the recent notices circulating online mostly apply to graduates from universities and technical universities, not to Colleges of Education or Nursing Colleges.
“To set the record straight,” TTAG said, “Teacher Trainees and Nursing Students will undertake their National Service next year, following the official timetable of the National Service Authority.”
The Association also advised all teacher trainees to ignore false information spreading on social media and rely only on official updates from TTAG or the NSA.
TTAG ended the statement with a reminder of its commitment:
“Building a formidable TTAG front! Teacher Trainees at heart! TTAG, we mean well!”
This clarification brings relief to many trainees who were unsure about when to begin their service after completing college.
